The Move: Status Update

My family will probably be arriving in Charlottesville a week from today to help me pack up my belongings and move them to storage until I figure out where I land after the bar. Hard to believe that in less than 10 days I will no longer be living in Charlottesville.

Right now, my room is almost completely packed. My closet is packed, along with two suitcases (one for a weekend trip to Boston for a friend’s wedding, and another with clothing to last me through the bar), the dresser is empty, my nightstand is packed, pictures, scrapbooks, and photo frames all stored away. All that’s left in my room are my bookshelves and my desk/filing cabinet. But considering the trouble these items gave me a few months ago, it may take longer to pack those.

Once my room is done, just the kitchen, and that’s about it.

This is going so much faster, and even smoother, than I had anticipated. But that’s not really making me happy. Combining the stress of bar studying with the prospect of uprooting and not even knowing to where I’m being transplanted, it’s a little unnerving emotionally. So in my last few days here, I’m trying to take in the people and things I love about this town. I feel a post or two dedicated to them soon.
